Sophie Nicoleau

Sophie Nicoleau, a professional dancer and choreographer, formerly served in the French Ballet Theatre. She performed in productions such as "Don Quixote," "Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker," "Sleeping Beauty," "Carmen," "Vaslaw," "Giselle," and "Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux," across Europe in her professional touring career. After retiring, she obtained certification as a French national ballet dance teacher. In the 15th district of Paris, she established her own dance studio, Sophie Nicoleau Dance Studio, where she teaches ballet to children and adults of different levels. Sophie Nicoleau also works as a choreographer, organizing ballet courses and staging large dance gala performances for children, teenagers, and adults. Additionally, she serves as a judge for various dance competitions in France.

Sophie has an incredible talent and patients for adapting to the unique needs of adult ballet dancers. She truly understands the limitations and challenges faced by adult ballerinas, and her ability to motivate them is remarkable. With her guidance on stage during our 2024 Summer Intensive, dancers are able to reach their full potential both on stage and in rehearsal. Additionally, Sophie skillfully modifies choreography to ensure it aligns with each dancer's abilities, creating an inclusive and empowering environment.

​Sophie’s ability to showcase her dancing poses and graceful form truly captivates adult ballet dancers, encouraging them to connect dance alongside her. Her quick choreography guidance during rehearsals, paired with her professional and beautiful demonstrations, consistently inspires adult ballet dancers throughout the intensive. Each session with Sophie is a reminder of the artistry and passion that ballet embodies.
